I first of would like to pay tribute to Johan's Oma Siersma

She passed away on the 13th of April

I did not know her as well as Oma van Koningsveld, but from what I know from her she was always very kind to me and so sweet to Shakinah! Johan always says what a kind and loving woman she was and how much she loved her family. She was clearly a very loved person in her life! May her dear heart rest in peace!

We have been blessed to have had Mirjam (Johan's sister) and her husband Urs and their daughter Hannah (4 months old) stay with us. It was originally planned that they would stay with us for a week, but with the passing of Oma Siersma Mirjam and Hannah ended up staying with us nearly a month! We LOVED having them around: it was a very special time for us.

Shakinah was in love with her cousin and even now she runs around the house saying "anna" "anna"

There is 1 week difference between the girls which is very precious

Anneke (Johan's Mother) and Sam (Johan's brother) came to stay with us for the weekend before Queens day and on Queens day! What a treat to have everyone together in the same house and on such a nice holiday. It was our first cloudless warm day since October. Johan and Shakinah had been struck with a bad stomach flu (Shakinah also had a double ear infection) and Johan was not able to even walk at this point. So they stayed home and watched elmo all afternoon :( poor guy looked crazy by the time we got home ;)
