We have had an interesting two months 

Johan had a new ACL (ligament from his thigh) put in since he had totally shredded through his old one 

So that was supposed to be a basic surgery (not fun, but within 6 weeks he should have been back to normal) 

Unforunately things never really seem to go to plan with us. So two weeks after his surgery I had to rush Johan to the ER at 2am because he was experiencing the worst pain he's ever had in his life. 

Poor guy

After 4 days of him being in the hospital they discovered that it was a deep infection that had spread up his thigh. Which was a huge set back! So after a week of being in the hospital Johan came home and the recovery has been very slow, but now he is on the mend! He is going back to work a couple hours every day and doing physical therapy. They are concerned about his leg, because of the infection and not being able to move for so long he lost all his muscle mass. So now he really needs to push himself to slowly build it up again, which is tiring and painful for him. 

I do want to thank everyone for their prayers and concern! The support gave us all a lot of strength! 

So now for pictures of our lives the past two months:

Kees and Isabel (Our friends) brought Johan while he was in the hospital a fairytale princess balloon. This thing was HUGE! Well, Shakinah instantly fell in love with it and it became her best friend and she took it everywhere. This was the day Johan came back from the hospital (the second time) Shakinah only wanted to lay with him, but of course as they were watching TV she had to hold her BFF.

This is how Johan decided to take Farah and Shakinah on walks once he was able to move around a bit. 

Yes, he actually hooked farah's leash to Shakinah's belt loop

Shakinah's favourite food is my homemade chicken soup (apparently she loves cumin) 

She loves to take my scarves and prance around in them

And to find new things to cook in my pots

Swinging with Jacobi is a great past time

And lining things up in an OCD like manner is her most favourite game of all

Kaliya enjoys walks in the park and "hanging" out

(I know really cheap)

We took Tuk and Mum out for sushi for his birthday and Mother's day

It was a great time!

It's been 5 years since her told me he loved me. Time is moving fast!

She's the smiliest baby I've ever seen

This is Julia's little girl (Sofie) she is such a relaxed baby

They already have such an awesome relationship. They love each other dearly
