Sweet Farah

“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace.”

Farah was the craziest dog I ever met. I mean she was legitimately not right in the head. I don't know how else to say it but screws were loose up there.

For example when for a couple months she decided she was afraid of grass so she wouldn't walk on it. Or when she had a fear of strawberries and would growl at them. She hated shepherds more than anything in this world and would try to destroy them. She refused to go in water, and she had a weird obsession with mud...like eating it..sneaking it...finding it in the weirdest places and then looking guilty when she walked up to me with a mouth covered in mud. She was afraid to turn around when she got stuck in a spot...so she would back up through the whole living room. very. slowly. Or how she would just stick her very large head right in your face...so that literally you were overwhelmed by dog.  All her quirkiness made her ever so endearing.

There is something to be said about a dog like her...that sticks by your side at your best, but mostly at your worst. Who wants to cuddle with you...when you've been a jerk. Who puts her huge head on your lap, when you've lost. And who loves you unashamedly.

She drove us to the point of madness quite often, but she always won us back with her incredibly sweet and peaceful nature. Our girl.

In my mind will forever be the memories of her running to us; all enthusiasm and big paws and clumsiness, but so much joy.
There was nothing that made you feel happier.
